Madison County Democratic Party
Election season is upon us. No one can doubt that from the barrage of TV and radio ads being run by the Republican Party’s presidential candidates. While it is fun to witness the Republicans exposing each other’s personal character flaws and their dearth of effective policy ideas, as Democrats, we must know that soon their venomous and unfounded attacks will be will be directed at our candidates. Now is the time for Democrats to rally our troops, fortify our defenses, and prepare for those attacks.
We must keep our party strong and in touch with the needs and wishes of our members. The first step in this process is to keep our precinct level organizations strong. This is where the ideas originate that helps our party leaders to develop strong and effective public policy. The Madison County Democratic Party will hold its precinct meetings at all voting precincts throughout the county on Tuesday, March 6 at 6:00 p.m. This is the opportunity for Democratic Party friends, neighbors, and kin to come together as a group and discuss how our party can best serve the people of Madison County. We will be electing delegates to our county convention that will in turn select delegates to our congressional district and state conventions.

Democrats, here is the opportunity to have your voice heard. We want and need your ideas. Call your precinct officers and ask what you can do to help. Come to the precinct meetings and bring a neighbor or friend with you. Help your unregistered friends become a member of the Democratic Party. We have seen just a small example of how the Republicans in the North Carolina Legislature want to dismantle and destroy all that we have accomplished, so that their Republican cronies can add to their riches on the backs of the people of Madison County and the State of North Carolina. Your contribution, your volunteering, and your vote will assure that we continue to move forward with equal opportunity for everyone.
